Bibi’s Story

Hi, I’m Bibi, and I live in Leiden. I first started with yoga in 2013 to help improve my immunity and health. The effects of doing Yoga regularly were truly profound. I soon started feeling stronger, more balanced, both physically and emotionally, and more confident to tackle the challenges of life. It gave me a new, more lighthearted perspective on the world, and shifted how I approach everything in life. Now, I literally can’t, don’t want to imagine my life without Yoga.

In 2019 I completed a 300 hrs Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga teacher training at the Yoga Minds Academy in Amsterdam. I now teach both Hatha and Vinyasa, as well as Yin classes. I love holding the poses in Hatha, building them from the ground up, deepening them with our breath, feeling all the subtleties of being in our bodies, fully aware, fully present. And I love the flowing nature of Vinyasa, the so many different ways to enter, leave, and combine postures, discover the range of our mobility, flexibility and strength, and explore our own experience through our practice. And there comes in the stillness of Yin to balance it all, to challenge us to look deeper inwards, with zero judgment, only openness to improve, to understand and learn more about ourselves, with compassion and tolerance, and to find freedom from pain, anxiety and suffering.

I’m very grateful to be able to share the gift of Yoga with my students, to invite and encourage them to have fun through movement, get more in tune with their bodies, and to bring their experience from their mats into their everyday lives. That inner smile and joy after each class, the lightness of each stride, the deeper connection within my body, the peace of mind — that is why I do this for, both in my personal practice, and as a teacher. Yoga helps me stay close to myself, and motivates me to challenge myself, explore and push my boundaries, and grow personally. I’d love to see you in my classes so that we can learn and grow together.
