Workshop
Soundhealing Journey (NL/ENG)
Sunday 13 March 13:30 – 15:00
Come and enjoy an evening of sound healing
The use of sound as a healing power has a long tradition. In many cultures around the world ritual sounds were used in traditional medicine (China, India, Greece, Siberian shamanism of North and South America).
An underlying idea is that illness can be seen as disharmony and that the right (harmonic) sounds can help to restore harmony.
Most of all meditative sounds can bring a deep relaxation in the brain, body and nervous system.
This evening a soundhealing journey will be guided by Amara Diabate (voice and kora), Karlijn Krijgsman (voice, various shamanic instruments and crystal alchemy bowl) and Hieke Krijgsman (voice, various shamanic instruments and handpan)
As far as the space permits, you will eather sit or lie in a circle on the floor on yoga mats. After a short introduction,we start with a guided meditation for you to feel more relaxed, grounded and open. You will be invited to close your eyes during the journey.
Then intuitively we play the instruments, and we might even walk around while playing the instruments to give a sound massage. The the music is created through free improvisation.
The musical instruments that are played include kora, shaman drums, singing bowls, rainsticks, clapsticks, bells, kalimba, handpan. The voice is also used. A session generally lasts 60 minutes.
Blankets are in the studio, but you might bring yourself some warm socks and clothing in which you feel comfortable.
